Consumed Church Distinctives

Language that we use

    • The original Christian hope — the resurrection of the dead — a fully embodied renewed world in which righteousness dwells, the world after the resurrection (new Heavens and a new earth) where every wrong will be set right by Jesus, The King and His wise judgment. Our inheritance instead of escapism.

    • Rom 8:18-25 — 2Peter 3:13 — 1 Cor 15 — Heb 11:13-16, 39-40.

    • Our salvation is more about what we’re saved for then what we are saved from. We believe that the Gospel is transformative as God is developing us as His children to reign with Him.

    • Romans 5:14-21; 12:1-2

      Gal 5:16-26

      Phil 2:12-13 1

      Thes 4:1-8,

    • We live holy lives not to please God, but to show His character and love. We take seriously bearing God’s image as a voaction and purpouse in life to steward His good creation by the power of the Holy Spirit.

    • Gen 1:26-28, Psalm 8, Psalm 139, 1 Pet 2:9-10, Psalm 115:16, Phil 2:12-13

    • The meaning and purpose of the church is to be "a small working model of new creation.” Bearing our cross is not about rule following as much as bearing with one another in loving relationships even when it's hard. We now have the privilege of stepping into the cycle of self-giving and receiving love shared within the Trinity.

    • John 13:12-20 ; 17:20-21, 1 John 3:16-19, Rom 15:1-6

    • Free people, Free people. It was for freedom that we were set free. To become all that Christ is in us.

    • Luke 4:18-19 2 Cor 2:14-15 ;3:18

    • We value the person of Jesus as King now reigning over all of creation.

    • “God’s ultimate salvation comes not simply through Jesus, but through Jesus in his specific capacity as the one enthroned at God’s right hand. From that position he is governing God’s new creation work. Jesus’s saving benefits are available only because he is first and foremost the King” — Matthew W. Bates

    Mat 28:18 — Dan 7:13-14 — Psa 2

    • sanctification/ holiness

    • man looks at the outward appearance but God looks at the heart.
